What these technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Dmlink also uses local storage, session storage, software-development tools, pixels, and similar technologies that store or read information on a device or send technical events. In this Policy, "storage technologies" refers to all of them.
A first-party technology is set for dm.link. A third-party technology is provided by another company, such as a payment or analytics provider. Third parties may process data under their own privacy notices when they independently determine how it is used.
Categories used on Dmlink
- Strictly necessary and security. Used for sign-in, session continuity, account switching, fraud prevention, security, load management, requested payment flows, and remembering whether an essential notice has been displayed. Some Dmlink features cannot operate without this category.
- Preferences and functionality. Used to remember optional interface choices, drafts, recently used features, navigation context, and other convenience settings. Removing these values may reset preferences or unfinished forms.
- Performance and analytics. Used, when enabled, to understand visits, referrals, feature use, errors, and performance. Dmlink configuration may include Google Analytics or Meta measurement technology. These providers may receive online identifiers, device information, page activity, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Payment and provider technology. Payment providers such as Stripe may use their own cookies or similar technology for secure checkout, card authentication, fraud prevention, and transaction processing. Provider-hosted technology is governed by the provider's applicable notice.
Legal basis and consent
Storage that is strictly necessary to provide a feature you request or to secure the service may be used without consent where applicable law permits. Where consent is required for non-essential storage, that consent must be a clear, informed choice and can be withdrawn. Enabling cookies in a browser, continuing to browse, or failing to change default settings is not, by itself, consent.
Dmlink may display a cookie notice to visitors. The current notice records that the notice was accepted in local storage; rejecting dismisses it for the current view. It does not currently provide category-level preference controls. Until granular controls are available, use browser or device controls to block or remove non-essential storage. This limitation is stated so the Policy does not promise a control the current website does not provide.
How long information remains
Session values normally expire when the browser or session ends. Persistent values remain until their configured expiry, until the related feature replaces them, or until they are removed through browser, device, or website controls. Retention varies by technology and provider. Security, transaction, and consent records may also be retained server-side under the Privacy Policy even after browser storage is removed.
How to manage storage technologies
- Use browser privacy settings to inspect, block, or delete cookies and site data for dm.link.
- Use private-browsing or tracking-prevention controls where available.
- Review settings or opt-out tools offered by analytics and payment providers.
- Disable or remove browser extensions that place their own storage.
- Contact us if a required feature stops working after storage is blocked.
Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent sign-in, checkout, security checks, saved preferences, or other requested features from working. Browser settings do not, by themselves, constitute consent; they are one practical way to exercise control over storage on your device.
